Geoinformatics is the science and the technology which develops and uses information science infrastructure to address the problems and changes in the fields of geography, cartography, geosciences, related branches of science, engineering, business and environment. Let’s remember that climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, plate tectonics, volcanic eruptions, variations in solar radiation received by Earth and certain human activities. If we look closely we can see that geoinformatics is directly related to the causes and the fundamentals of climate change.  Geoinformatics has at its core the technologies supporting the processes of acquiring, analyzing and visualizing data, are the results of such processes important if we want to study and construct a more sustainable future?  Read this article
